MARIN COUNTY SAR K9 TEAM

The Marin County Search & Rescue K9 team is a diverse group of volunteers. Our members include community-minded individuals with backgrounds in emergency services, consulting, real estate, publishing, and home making – to name a few. What we all have in common is a strong sense of community & love for our canine partners and family members.

The K9 team members of Marin SAR have assisted in searches for missing children, at-risk-adults, despondent people, and lost hikers. Dogs can cover large geographic areas, saving the team time and manpower. Trained to detect human scent in a variety of scenarios, our K9 members are deployed in forests, beaches, buildings, and lakes.

We encourage all those interested in joining the Marin SAR K9 team to speak with a senior team member about time and training requirements before acquiring a dog. Should you have any questions about joining, or would like to schedule a visit to one of our training sessions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Please link to our FAQ’s to find the answers to many of your questions.
